Slide 9: 07MESSAGEChairman AEPC ATDC IAMOver 2 decades ATDC has built a unique position as a quality education training provider forapparel sector especially the junior and middle level managers and supervisory cadre and in therecent years has emerged as the largest Vocational Training Provider with a leading position inthe vocational education space. ATDC has set up over 200 ATDC Vocational Institutes/ATDCCentres/ATDC Skill Camps and 3 Training of Trainers Academy to address the current shortageof talent and skill faced by apparel sector and also to improve the quality of training. The apparel and textile value chain together provide the biggest employment opportunity inIndia. It has the potential to absorb over 50 million workers over the next decade. ATDC Indiaslargest vocational training network for the apparel sector understanding the estimatedrequirement of 9-10 million people by 2022 is now expanding its reach from “fibre to fashion”and “concept to consumer” by adding new need based training courses and product specialtycourses.
We have been constantly striving to infuse a new dynamism to the entire value chain ofthe apparel and textile sectors. With a plan to take the ATDC to another level in terms of qualityrelevance teaching and innovation we moved toward the two key skill and education councilsof India AICTE DGET and reengineered the apparel-textile-fashion courses based on thepresent demands of the industry. The setting up of two curricula committees by AICTE to beginwith and later by NCVT under the Chairmanship of DG CEO ATDC has only broughtrecognition to ATDC but also provided an opportunity to align the ATDC Courses going forwardwith MES of NCVT by transforming most of ATDCs as VTP and also with AICTE by moving forregistration of select ATDCs as SKP. ATDC has aligned with NCVT for both long-term and short-term courses so that the courses are affordable to a large cross section of our society whichspecifically requires gainful wage employment and opportunity for self employment and alsoproviding appropriate certification and employability. The career prospects of students of ATDC Vocational Institutes will be very bright helping theindividuals and families to have a better quality life while helping the export domestic apparelmanufacturing industries to scale new heights in the time to come.Chairman AEPC ATDC IAMSh. Virender UppalMESSAGEVice Chairman ATDCATDC Vocational Training Network having presence in over 85 cities 23 states across India andhaving trained over 52000 candidates in the year 20-13 through 27 Hubs 28Centres 145 Skill Camps has surely contributed towards providing trained and highly skilledmanpower for the shop floor supervisory and junior managerial levels in the domestic as wellas export manufacturing units in India.
