Satisfactory VoIP Network?: When sending alarm signals over a digital voice line over internet protocol ('VoIP') you should be aware that not all VoIP lines are equal. VoIP lines where designed to send voice and not data which is what your Napco alarm tries to send to our central station receiver.
GeoArm has tested and approved successful transmission of VoIP alarms over AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS, Bright House, Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, and Time Warner digital lines. Unfortunately, we are unable to send reliable signals using the MagicJack, Ooma, Vonage networks. If your VoIP provider is not listed above, we will be glad to attempt the risk-free VoIP setup for you.#2. Unlocked Control Panel?: The 'installer code' is a 4-digit code that may have been programmed into your Napco security system to prevent ('lock-out') GeoArm from accessing your security systems programming. If this 4-digit lock-out code is used on your alarm control panel by your previous alarm monitoring company it may, or may not be able to be reprogrammed for our VoIP monitoring services.
The Comcast router is encrypted by the home security server to keep people from hacking into your alarm system. When we do our installs the router is told to do a firmware update that encrypts it and locks it down. After you install Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, the application will ask you for an activation code. Comcast has changed the 4321 code to something new. This video explains why it was changed and how it now works. This will start taken effect over the 4th week of Nov 2017 Contact me on Facebook.
In some cases, depending on your previous monitoring company a default of the Napco alarm control panel can be performed to set the panel back to factory settings.#3. Dial Tone at the Control Panel?: Lastly, after meeting the above requirements, for your Napco VoIP security system to send data over the digital line, it will need dial-tone at the control panel ('brains of the system'). The control panel is usually a big metal can that is located out of site with traditional wired or hybrid security systems and usually the all-in-one plastic enclosure for newer wireless systems. Through the back of the wired control panel there is a spot to land the 'tip' and 'ring' wires to the board. For wireless control panels usually you snap the phone line into the appropriate slot. To test this, you may attach a cordless or any phone to the applicable telephone wire and attempt to make a phone call. Assuming you can make a phone call and/or heard dial tone, on the jack where the control panel is located, we should be good to go.
When the Installer Code is entered on a panel, the user will be taken to a different menu than if they enter their Master Code. This menu allows users to add and program new devices, change system settings, and change delay times. The Installer Code can also change the Master Code, but it cannot assign any other user codes. Additionally, the Installer Code can never be used to disarm a system, unless it was the code used to arm the system in the first place. The Master Code is the primary code for the alarm system. In addition to arming and disarming the alarm system, the Master Code provides access to a user menu. Razer serial number not working. From there, you can add, edit and delete user codes, change the master code, view the event log, set the system clock, program keypad macros, set scheduled events and activate output devices like triggers and relays. The Master Code can always disarm the system, even if it was not armed using that code.In addition to Master and Installer codes, there are also User Codes.
These codes can perform basic arming and disarming functions, as well as zone bypassing, and they are a good way to allow a person to reliably arm and disarm the panel, without having to provide them with the Master Code.It should be noted that the Installer Code and the Master Code on a panel can never be the same. Each needs to have its own unique four-digit number. Every alarm system brand has a standard default Installer Code and Master Code. Knowing these codes can be helpful for accessing a panel after it has reset to factory default. Below are some of the default codes:.: Master - 1234; Installer - 4112.: Master - 1111; Installer - 1561.: Master - 1234; Installer - 1111Did you find this answer useful?
